Scribit.Pro strives for an inclusive future in which online video is accessible to everyone, including viewers with a disability. Think of audio description, subtitling for the deaf and hard of hearing, transcription and sign translation. Our software makes it possible to produce all forms of support to meet WCAG 2.1 web accessibility guidelines. In this way, people with a visual and/or hearing impairment can follow video content. But these accessibility facilities can also be of vital importance to seniors, non-native speakers, people with reading or learning difficulties, or people with autism or brain injury. Being digitally accessible even means a better user experience for all people.
The story of Scribit.Pro started in 2016 under the banner of Bartimeus from the desire to make YouTube videos accessible to blind and partially sighted users. This resulted in the establishment of scribit.tv, made possible by Bartimeus Fund, KPN Mooiste Contactfonds and Visio Funds. Initiator Eveline Ferwerda successfully professionalises this platform and develops it into all forms of video accessibility. Scribit.Pro was launched in the summer of 2020 and has grown into a vibrant and bustling organization, with idea machine Eveline and technical talent Nico Stapelbroek as co-founders, a handful of permanent employees and a large network of freelancers.
Scribit.Pro delivers a fantastic product and reliable, professional and fast service. In addition, we have developed unique user-friendly software for customers who want to get started with video accessibility themselves. Together with two seasoned entrepreneurs Hermen and Henri, the Bartiméus Fund provided the first financing. Now is the time to grow explosively.
