Are your videos WCAG proof yet?

16 September 2020

Today we do everything digitally. We read the newspaper online, tell our stories to social media channels and post millions of videos online. However, as a result of this entire digitization, we forget that there are also people who no longer have access to this information.

It is therefore not surprising that there are more and more rules and laws that make it mandatory that information must be accessible. European rules to which everyone must conform. We can no longer ignore it, we really have to get started. A deadline has even been set for government institutions; September 23, 2020. That also applies to videos on websites.

You too need to get started!

The business community also has to deal with rules regarding accessibility. The Equal Treatment Based on Disability or Chronic Illness Act (Wgbh/cz) has been in force since 1 January 2017. The basis of this law is that people with a disability or chronic illness, just like others, must be able to participate in society. This applies both offline and online. And of course that also applies to the information you communicate in your videos.
